Saturday 3rd May
Kick Back Comedy are working with Guildford Fringe to bring top class stand up comedy shows to Guildford in The Back Room of The Star Inn. All comedians are professional comics that have worked at major comedy clubs; as well as on TV. We cater for all comedy types so we know we can tickle your fancy one way or another with our varied bills.
For 3 years now Kick Back Comedy have wanted to bring great comedy shows to Surrey and now they have the opportunity to do so in for a monthly event throughout 2014. Our team is working extremely hard to ensure that we deliver unforgettable comedy experiences in Guildford.
The line up for 3rd May are:
Jessica Fostekew (Headliner):
“Really all about the jokes, and she doesn’t embark on a path unless there’s a funny at the end of it, and ideally a few smaller ones along the way too. She also has a winning delivery, adept at misdirection, and speaks with the confident cadence that instinctively matches the rhythm of a joke… stand-up you might expect from a much more experienced performer” - Steve Bennett, Chortle
Simon Feilder (Open act):
Since diving headlong into the world of stand-up comedy, Simon has been a semi-finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards, a finalist in the Amused Moose Talent Quest, Laughing Horse New Act, Bath New Act, Leicester New Act Competition and Jongleurs Comedy Call-back. Simon has been described as “Highly entertaining” by Time Out and “Compelling to watch… Unashamedly feel good.” by Chortle.
Scott Capurro (Middle act):
Constantly operating on the boundaries of good taste and often straying some way over the line Scott is a challenging comedian in the best sense of the word. He is so comfortable dealing with topics that other comics would never touch that he forces audiences to ask themselves why they should feel so uncomfortable about some of his subject matter. Yet despite this approach or perhaps even because of it Scott has established himself as one of the most popular faces in the UK comedy circuit.
Debra Jane Appleby (MC):
Winner of both The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Funny Women Comedy Award in 2005, Debra Jane Appelby is fast becoming one of the most popular comedians on the circuit. Currently recording for the BBC and Paramount Comedy and with interest from Channel 4, Debra-Jane Appelby is making her mark on both the comedy circuit and the broadcast industry.
Time: 7:30 pm (Doors open), 8:00 pm (show starts), 10:00 pm (show ends), with 2 intervals.
Venue: The Back Room of The Star Inn, Quarry Street, Guildford, GU1 3TY
