The Compton Parish Council are thrilled to announce the official opening of the newly refurbished Compton Play Park, which took place on Thursday 3rd October. The ceremony was led by the Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Sallie Barker MBE, who proudly cut the ribbon to mark the completion of this exciting new community space.
After several months of renovation, the play park now boasts a range of exciting features for children of all ages, including a thrilling zip wire, a multi-play unit designed for younger children, and an accessible “rock and bowl” feature, ensuring the park is inclusive for children of all abilities.
Parish Clerk Joanna Cadman expressed her delight at the opening, stating, “This new play park represents a wonderful addition to the Compton community. I am thrilled that we were able to make it accessible and enjoyable for all children. It’s heartening to know that this park will provide a safe, fun space for families to come together and enjoy. We had a fabulous turnout for the opening which we hope is a sign that it will be a well used and much loved part of Compton for the coming years.”
The event was incredibly well-attended by local families, community members, and officials, who gathered to celebrate the new space and thank the Parish Council for all their hard work in making this happen. Visitors were treated to refreshments from village resident Nick Wyschna and had the opportunity to explore and enjoy the park’s new facilities.
The Compton Play Park project was made possible thanks to the dedication of the Parish Council and community members, who have worked tirelessly to ensure this much-loved space was rejuvenated for future generations.
We invite everyone to visit the park, bring your children, and experience the fantastic new features that have been carefully designed with the needs of the community in mind.
